A fire broke out on the third floor of the Zainab Market Karachi in downtown Saddar on Wednesday morning, causing damage to several shops on the third floor.
Murtaza Wahab Siddiqui, the administrator of Karachi, was also alerted of the issue and stated in a tweet that “another case of fire has been recorded near Zainab Market, Karachi.” The KMC fire brigade team is on the scene to keep the situation under control.”
“In addition to fire tenders, the snorkel is also on hand at the location. “All efforts are being undertaken by KMC fire personnel and the administration to get the situation under control,” the administrator stated emphatically.
The traffic police are diverting traffic through alternate routes in the meanwhile.
Zainab Market is located on Abdullah Haroon Road in the Saddar neighborhood of Karachi, which is one of the busiest commercial districts in the country.

According to Karachi Commissioner Iqbal Memon, the blaze was of “third-grade” severity.
The businesses that were directly affected claimed that the fire department arrived an hour after the blaze was reported. In addition, the firefighters stated that they could have prevented huge losses if they had been on the scene earlier.
The shopkeepers believe that the fire started on the ground floor and spread to the first floor as a result of a large amount of inventory in the stores on the first floor.
The firefighting operation was also assisted by fire tenders from the Pakistan Navy (PN).
The help, according to a spokeswoman for the Pakistan Navy, was supplied at the request of the civil authorities in Pakistan.
Authorities with the fire department stated that they received information about the incident early in the morning, around 5 a.m., when they arrived on the scene.
According to the officials, they first despatched four fire tenders as soon as they received the information; however, when they witnessed the intensity of the blaze, they decided to increase the number of fire tenders.
