The Federal Planning Minister, Development Ministry, and Special Initiatives Asad Umar called on Thursday a public meeting in Karachi at the country’s leadership about the deteriorating status of COVID-19 in the country.
President of the PDM and head of the Maulana Fazlur Rehman Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl), planned a press conference in Karachi on 29 August to house a public meeting.
Asad Umar said on Tweet, “Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of PPP, was threatening to bring PM Imran Khan and ministers to account if COVID-19 is still spreading in Karachi, and the PDM is now announcing that it is organising a public gathering in Karachi this month,” he said.
The federal Minister expressed his dissatisfaction at this decision: “The greatest infringements of COVID-19 SOPs in the past year were, unfortunately, committed by politicians.”
