A 28-year-old woman allegedly killed her husband with the help of her lover and buried her body in her home on the western outskirts of Mumbai’s Dahisar, police said Tuesday.
The woman, identified as Rashida Sheikh, was arrested during the day while her lover Amit Mishra was on the run, an official said.
The incident occurred 12 days ago when the accused cut the throat of victim Raees Sheikh with a sharp weapon in front of his underage daughter, the official said.
He claims that the two then buried the body in the woman’s chamber and went about their lives.
The victim worked as a salesman at a clothing store, and on May 25, the victim’s neighbors reported missing people after not seeing her for more than a week.

The problem came to light after the victim’s brother arrived at his home and his nephew went on strike and notified him of the murder, the officer said.
