Complete Story Why PSL 6 Postponed?

From bursting bubbles to postponing play to stopping a tournament indefinitely. The complete story happened from February 19 to March 4.

Before the start of PSL Season 6, a Lahore Qalandars player tested +ve for covid19 (COVID disease is an infectious disease caused by the newly discovered coronavirus ) and started showing symptoms of covid19, then later PSL management decided to put it on isolation for at least ten days.

Before the opening match at Night, Coach of Peshawar Zalmi Dareen Sami and Captain of Peshawar Zalim Team Wahab Riaz broke the bio-security bubble at the Karachi hotel and meets with the franchise owner of Peshawar Zalim Javed Afridi.

Javed was not part of the bio-security bubble. After meeting with Javed Afridi PSL Management asked Dareen Sami and Wahab Riaz to enter a three-day quarantine and upon negative test can return to the team.

After Peshawar Zalmi filed a complaint with the PSL Competition Commission about a concession, Sammy and Wahab were allowed to rejoin the team, even though they had not completed the three-day quarantine period.

They returned two negative tests within 48 hours. The results of the second test will arrive in the morning, delaying Peshawar’s departure for the stadium. Wahab Riaz then led his team to be defeated by Qalandars, and Sami was in the dugout.

The match between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators was postponed first and then postponed until the next day after Fawad Ahmed returned with a positive result.

An Islamabad United statement said Ahmed, who is showing symptoms, was isolated two days ago. It shows it is February 27, which means he will find himself in isolation soon after playing his first game of the season – against Zalmi. Rapid-fire tests were carried out on all the other members of the Islamabad United and the gladiators, all of whom returned negative.

All players and officials must undergo PCR testing. Rescheduled games will resume and PCB states that testing will not take place every four days, not weekly as planned.

Two other players – including Tom Bunton – and a support member tested positive. PCB meets with the franchisee to reassure them and reiterates its message that players must adhere to protocol. The PCB said it was happy their bladder was safe, although it acknowledged that “life in a balloon is very difficult and very difficult to manage. It happens to other sports around the world – the NFL, NHL, Formula 1, or Australian Open happening, but that doesn’t mean the bubble is weak or has a gap. “

The franchise and league management meet to determine the path the league will take after testing positive. One option under discussion is to leave Lahore and play in Karachi throughout the season. At least two franchises strongly reject the idea. PCB also announced it would offer a vaccine to all players and staff.

Three other players are positive and there is news that the Australian Dan Christian has left the tournament because of the Covid-19 case. Shortly thereafter, PCB announced that they would postpone the league immediately. The PCB said the new cases did not come from teams playing Wednesday’s double scoring clash that excluded players from Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultan, or Quetta Gladiator.
