White House: US is aware of Covid vaccine’s disinformation by Russia

White House spokesman Jen Psaki said on Monday that, “President Joe Biden’s government was monitoring Russian intelligence agencies’ long efforts to weaken Moderna Inc. and Pfizer Inc. coronavirus vaccines.”

We are aware of it, we are monitoring it and we are taking steps to deal with it,” Psaki said at a White House press conference.

“The US has identified three web based publications, led by Russian intelligence wing. These have designed to destroy the Covid-19 vaccine produced by Pfizer and Moderna,” a State Department spokesman said Sunday.

Their outlets “spread all kinds of misinformation including vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna. Also about international organizations, military conflicts, protests and potential discord,” Psaki said.

The Wall Street Journal first reported on the alleged identification of the campaign on Sunday. A Kremlin spokesman denied US claims that Russia provided false information about vaccines in the journal.

“We will struggle with every tool and every technology to expose misinformation. We are certainly much familiar with the mind thinking approach and intelligence tactics of Russia’s disinformation efforts,” Psaki said. She was also adding that President Joe Biden’s administration would repeat “at every opportunity” that vaccines are safe.

Russia and United States are rivals to each other. Both are making troubles for each other at any crucial time to give tough time and to level up home country.
