WhatsApp will soon allow you to connect tablets as secondary devices

Soon, it will be easier to connect your main WhatsApp account to tablets. WhatsApp is working on making it possible to connect tablets to your account. As usual, WABetaInfo users became the first to notice the new thing.

The “companion mode” feature that lets you sync your account to a second mobile device is first found for the first time in May of this year. In the most recent Android beta, a tablet version of WhatsApp is first found. Putting to rest rumors that the program would only be available on phones.

The screenshot shows that it will work the same way as WhatsApp Desktop. WhatsApp is easy to get on a tablet, and you can use a QR code to sign in. Scan this QR code with your primary WhatsApp account on your phone to get all of your conversations on both devices to match up.

To sync your phone and secondary device, your primary device needs to be online. Once the devices do┬áconnect, you can use WhatsApp on your tablet even when your phone isn’t online. Even if your main phone is an iPhone, this will still work as it was meant to. I’m not sure if this will work on iPads, though.

The feature is still in its early stages of development, so we may see more changes in the future, like improvements to its look or support for more functions.

The new companion mode for Android tablets is only available to a small group of beta testers right now, and no one knows when it will become available to everyone else. Still, people are working on it, and everyone will be able to use it in the end.
