In a strange statement, Ayatollah Abbas said coronavirus vaccine makes people homosexuals. He urged his followers to not interact with Covid vaccinated people.
Ayatollah Abbas Tabrizian is from the holy city of Qom. He wrote on his social media platform Telegram: “Stay away from those who receive the Covid vaccine. Vaccine makes people homosexuals,” according to a report published in newspaper.
He has about 210k followers on his official Telegram account. Tabrizian has a long history of disgraceful opinion about West and Western medicine.
Last year, he also did an irresponsible act. In a video he burned Harrison’s Handbook of Medicine and said that “Islamic medicine” had made all such books “unnecessary,” according to an article published on the website.
“In reality, the purpose of cleric is to spread nonsense, to scare people about getting vaccinated. While all regime leaders and other officials have vaccinated, and they don’t give it to people on the grounds that they don’t believe in the West,” said Sheina Vojoudi, an Iranian dissident.

Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has banned the Health Ministry from importing US and UK-made vaccines. He believes are unreliable and can be used to spread infections to other countries.
The country launched its Covid-19 vaccination earlier this month, initially focusing on intensive hospital staff as the hardest-hit country in the Middle East expects a sufficient vaccine for its population.
