Lahore Current Situation: CM Usman Buzdar condoled and prayed for the martyred officers

Usman Buzdar, the Chief Minister of Punjab, offered his condolences and prayed for the lives of the policemen who were martyred in skirmishes with members of the Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP).

The minister reassured their bereaved families that the province government was on their side during this difficult time.

In addition, the chief minister urged officials to take strong measures against individuals who were culpable for the incident. “We must ensure that the rule of law is maintained at all costs,” he declared, adding that no one will be permitted to take the law into their own hands.

As part of his order, he urged officials to guarantee that the injured police officers received the finest medical care available.

The Punjab government has formed a committee to hold discussions

On Friday, shortly after 4 p.m., the Punjab Chief Minister announced the formation of a committee, which would include province Law Minister Raja Basharat and Prosecution Minister Chaudhry Zaheeruddin, to negotiate with the outlawed organisation.

According to the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), “we all need to work together for peace and harmony in the country,” the chief minister stated.

TLP chief Saad Hussain Rizvi was detained and later freed, according to a statement posted by the outlawed group as violence erupted in Lahore.

“They called us in for negotiations, but our workers were attacked from behind,” according to a statement released by the group’s spokesperson. He said that “thousands” of people were gravely injured, with many suffering bullet wounds.

“At this point, only the TLP’s chief will be in charge of the negotiations,” the spokeswoman explained.

It was in the statement that the group restated the demands that they had made of the administration previously.
