According to reports, the US Military shows its support for Pakistan amid heavy floods situation in the country. They are sending an assessment team to Islamabad to explore what possible support the DoD may give to the flooding disaster. A third of the country has flooded and at least 1,186 lives lost.
CENTCOM Communication Director Colonel Joe Buccino released a news statement on September 2. Whereas, General Michael called COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa to express his condolences for the lives lost in the country’s record flash floods.
The flood-ravaged people of Pakistan have the backing of General Bajwa. He expressed gratitude to the US commander and Military for his promise to support Pakistan.
Moreover, British High Commissioner Christian Turner met with Army Chief General Bajwa. The high commissioner offered assistance to Pakistan and voiced his sorrow over the loss of life caused by the recent floods.
In response to the British government’s aid to flood victims, the Army Chief praised the foreign minister. He stressed the importance of international stakeholders’ contributions to the recovery of flood victims.
Disastrous floods in Pakistan killed more than 1,186 people and inundated a third of the nation. The British High Commissioner to Pakistan pledged an additional £15 million in lifesaving help for flood victims.
