Italy beat Switzerland 3-0 on Wednesday and secured a place in the last 16 of UEFA Euro 2020. Group A’s most important match played at Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
Midfielder Manuel Locatelli scored twice for Italy as a key player of game. Locatelli crossed the goal line in the 26th minute and doubled the lead in the 52nd by scoring a goal outside the zone. He strike a low shot into the bottom corner of net to make it 2-0 for his side. Swiss goalkeeper Jan Somer did not move. He has later declared the Man of the match.
Italy’s another striker Ciro Immobile sealed the game and scored the third goal at the end of game. Like Locatelli, Immobile also shoots from great distance to slot the ball into the Swiss net. Somer again couldn’t resist it.
Group A leader’s Italy won two matches and finished in 16th place. Wales have four points in the group in second place and a big advantage for the next phase. Switzerland has a point. Turkey was the last to lose to Italy and Wales.
Italy will face Wales in Rome on Sunday. On the same day, Turkey will play against Switzerland in Baku.
After these Italy and other matches, group A’s game of UEFA Euro 2020 will conclude.
On the other side, Russia also won against Finland and hope to get place in next round.
