The popular taxi app Uber closes working in some of Pakistan’s biggest cities. The company just said that the ridesharing app would no longer be available in five Pakistani cities. Islamabad, Karachi, Multan, Faisalabad, and Peshawar are some of these cities. Today is the day that services will no longer be available.
If you try to use the Uber app in one of the above cities from now on, you will get a message telling you that the service always did (closes) stop there. Instead, it tells you to book a ride through the Careem app, which Uber also has did buy in 2020.
This screenshot is available for you to look at. Not everyone will ask the same questions, but those who can’t find a means to get around will get fewer options. When you try to book a ride, you’ll see a message that says “Unfortunately, Uber is no longer available in your area.”
Even so, Uber wants its users in the Lahore area to know that the app is still accessible. The company just did make the following announcement:
We’re glad that the Uber app has given you a way to get around in those five cities over the past five years. Because of this, we are now able to form a regular part of our life. I hope you enjoy your time in Lahore.
We have reached out to Uber to find out more about this. We’ll let you know what happens and give you more information as soon as we get an official answer.
