Two people were arrested in Karachi for not having a COVID-19 immunization

On Friday, Karachi police detained two persons for failing to get vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus, according to reports.

According to the police, a case against them was filed at the Sohrab Goth Police Station, according to the police. It should be noted that the case contains clauses about the disobedience of government orders.

Police have opened an investigation into the incident under the Sindh Epidemic Diseases Act, 2014.

The Sindh home department wrote letters to the Inspector General of Police, the Director General of the Rangers, and the divisional commissioners of their respective provinces. It sought for the registration of instances as well as the application of financial penalties. They will take action against anyone who do not adhere to coronavirus standard operating procedures (SOPS).

After the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) issued new directions to speed COVID-19 immunisation in the country earlier this week, the Sindh government made the decision to arrest unvaccinated people.

In light of the new directives, the Department of the Interior has issued a notification. According to the notification, motorists travelling on the highways would be forced to get vaccinated by September 20, at the latest. It went on to say that if there is evidence of unvaccinated employees on the job, the police will take buses and other equipment owned by transportation companies.

Unvaccinated employees, including those involved in home deliveries, would be barred from working in hotels and restaurants, according to the plan. Travelers who have not been vaccinated will no longer be able to take advantage of train services going forward.
