It is actually quite common in some regions of the world, such as Asia, to sell and advertise things through livestreaming video. When a vendor engages with their viewers (customers), he or she talks about a product, shows it. And then sells it to them. It has an almost home shopping feel to it, which many people seem to enjoy. And Twitter also Tests new Livestream shopping feature.
Following the success of such activities, it appears like Twitter is attempting to capitalize on this trend. Also they are doing this by announcing that Twitter will be testing a shopping feature for its livestream. To put it another way, rather than forcing the seller to use a separate platform to handle sales or personally communicate with customers in order to confirm orders. Customers who have interested in a product will be able to purchase it. They can do it just by clicking on the banners and tabs that will appear in livestreams.
The social media platform Twitter claims that “people naturally flock to Twitter around important cultural events”. Using livestreaming on Twitter to communicate with their most influential fans is a powerful tool for businesses. And incorporating the option to shop into this experience is a logical extension of the company’s efforts to attract and engage with responsive audiences.”
On the 28th of November, 2021, at 7 p.m. ET, the firm will launch their Live Shopping pilot in conjunction with Walmart, which will last for 30 days. This year’s event will be hosted by singer-songwriter-dancer Jason Derulo. Who will demonstrate a variety of technology, home products, clothing and other items.
