As Pakistan’s Board of Investment (BOI) offered foreign investors to invest in the Pakistan hospitality industry, the Tourism Hotel Managers Association of Turkey (TUROYD) shows its interest to invest in the Pakistan tourism sector.
TUROYD is a corporation of hotels and tour operators whose purpose is to ensure the activation and development of civil society in the tourism sector and to support communities and organizations in this sector. The Association currently offers specialized services in 71 countries worldwide.
Ali Can Aksu, President of the Association of Turkish Tourism Hotel Managers, along with his team invited Minister of State / Chairman of the Investment Council Atif Bokhari to discuss investment opportunities and offer specialized services/knowledge related to tourism and hospitality in the country, Pakistan.
When giving a presentation during the meeting, Ali Can Aksu said that the dynamics of tourism have changed dramatically due to the pandemic that is underway, so his association is working for ecological tourism.
Moreover, he said, “We are actively looking for new tourist destinations and Pakistan has the potential to become one of the top tourist destinations in the world.“
There, he also highlighted that TUROYD focuses on promoting the growth of the country’s culture, in addition to tourism and hospitality, and shares its knowledge and experience to promote Pakistan as a tourist destination.
President BOI also welcomed the delegation and informed them about the government’s initiative to promote tourism. The government is studying the privatization of state-owned tourism sites, which could be an ideal opportunity for interested investors like TUROYD.
He added that there may be a collaboration for the creation of specialized institutes that offer training for the hospitality and service industries.
Atif said that by keeping in touch with our religious and cultural values, the Pakistani government wants to promote family-oriented tourism and that Turkey, a country with values that traditionally has a fraternal relationship with Pakistan, can help achieve its goals effectively reach.
The Secretary BOI provides all possible assistance to the delegation in carrying out their investment efforts in Pakistan. The BOI acts as the highest body of the Pakistani government to promote and facilitate investment as a window for foreign investors.
Consequently, President BOI thanked the delegation and also assured them that the BOI, being the Pakistani government’s highest body for promoting and facilitating investments, will support the association in carrying out its plans in Pakistan.
