As the commercial beekeeping industry is quickly growing in rural regions, Pakistan has set up a Honeybee Research Laboratory with Turkey’s assistance to promote quality honey production in Turkey.
The facility was opened at a ceremony at the Islamabad National Center for Agriculture Research.
Turkish embassador to Pakistan Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, speaking at the event, said that he was committed to continue supporting collaboration in many areas with Pakistan. He said that the issue of food security is confronted by all the countries in the globe. Pakistan and Turkey may collaborate to guarantee food safety. He added.
Chairman Muhammad Azeem Khan, Pakistan’s Agriculture Research Council, appreciated the Turkish support in establishing the Honeybee Research Laboratory for his remarks on the occasion.
He added that Pakistan is manufacturing excellent honey, which would be further enhanced by the creation of the laboratory, in accordance with current standards.
