Trevor Noah
Trevor Noah discussed leaving The Daily Show on September 29, 2022. He surprised his audience, show producers, crew, and Toronto-bound representatives.
Noah, 38, told The Hollywood Reporter he wanted to announce his exit himself. Noah told THR a month later, “I didn’t want anyone to be the person who tells someone else, who tells someone else.”
“Now we make it.” “Because [the show] is in our area, it seemed appropriate to notify everyone at once.”
Noah requested extra time before the commercial break during the taping. “Before we go,” he said, he was reminded by correspondent Roy Wood Jr. that it was their sixth anniversary.
“I’m grateful for the journey,” he said. “It’s been fantastic, but I realised after seven years that my time is doneāthe Trump presidency, the epidemic, the pandemic.”
According to THR, the statement elicited audible gasps from the audience of The Daily Show.
At 38, the comic wanted to travel and tour more.
Noah says he believes everything should end because he wasn’t raised in America. “A lot of American business and media say, ‘Keep it running as long as possible,’ but I think it’s healthy for things to stop while they’re still excellent.” “I want to quit before I’m burned out since I have other plans.”
“The Daily Show” was never Noah’s plan or desire, the site said. Noah turned down Jon Stewart’s offer to be an overseas correspondent in 2013.
Noah was under 30 and scarcely knew Stewart. He didn’t like the thought of derailing a successful stand-up career to join an American TV show. He eventually appeared three times on The Daily Show before agreeing to replace Stewart in March 2015.
