Tom Brady and his wife will acquire FTX shares

National Football League quarterback Tom Brady and his wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, will take an undisclosed stake in US cryptocurrency platform FTX Trading Ltd, the company said Tuesday.

Under the terms of the agreement, Brady will be the FTX ambassador and Bundchen will take on the role of advisor on environmental and social initiatives. Both will accept an unlimited number of cryptocurrencies, the company said.

Founded and led by Sam Bankman-Fried, a 29-year-old crypto billionaire veteran, FTX is in talks to raise $1 billion for an estimated $20 billion, according to media reports.

Tom Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, has long been a defender of cryptocurrencies. Last month, he edited a photo on his Twitter account into a “laser eye” meme – a popular internet quirk among cryptocurrency enthusiasts.

Earlier this year, Tom Brady also announced that he would launch a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) platform called Autograph, which will bring together iconic brands from sports, entertainment, fashion, and pop culture to create digital collections.
