Twitter announced Tuesday that it will begin testing ads on its disappearing posts feature, Fleets, as it serves to offer advertisers more options.
The social media company has previously announced that it will double its annual revenue year over year by 2023, which it aims to achieve in part by selling ads on more parts of its website and mobile app.
The fleet ad will be the first on Twitter to appear full screen on mobile, the company said. Advertisers usually like full-screen ads because they attract users’ attention.
The new proposal is part of Twitter’s goal to reach out to larger social media platforms like Facebook and Snap, which have long offered the Stories feature, which disappears after 24 hours and is monetized through ads.

Brands creating fleet ads can also use a feature that directs users to a company website or other web destination when they drag the ad up.
