TikTokers’ earnings, according to creators

TikTok has spawned a new breed of digital stars with large followings. But many creators are still testing new revenue streams. Brand deals, song promotions, livestreams and TikTokers’ Creator Fund all earn money. Introducing a new breed of digital stars. However, many creators struggle to make money on TikTok asia alone.

Unlike YouTube and Facebook, TikTok does not share ad money with influencers. This app includes monetization methods including virtual “gifts” and a Creator Fund that pays users with 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in a 30-day period.

According to a report, while Creator Fund payments aren’t based only on views, effective rewards for videos have been as low as a few pennies per thousand views. A total of $1,664 was made from the Creator Fund between January and May of 2021 by personal finance influencer Preston Seo, who has 2.1 million TikTok followers. His TikTok account earns $9-$38 every day.

TikTok creators have other options than the Creator Fund. In addition, some TikTokers gain money by getting virtual “gifts” during livestreams. For example, ASMR video maker Lucy Davis earns between $20 and $300 every live stream. (The company has started testing gifts in other portions of the app.)

In order to make ends meet, many TikTok influencers work with brands and promote songs. Seo estimates his TikTok asia sponsored post fee at $600.

Lahor Herald previously reported that TikTok creator Symphony Clarke charged between $350 and $600 for a sponsored post.
