TikTok Hits 1 Billion Monthly Active Users

As TikTok’s user base has grown consistently over time, it has now reached the 1 billion mark, according to the firm. They claim that Tiktok now has 1 billion monthly active users across the globe.

That’s actually very crazy, and if you think about it, it’s possible that it almost didn’t happen at all. This is due to the fact that the United States government said in 2020 that they may be looking to force ByteDance (TikTok’s parent business based in China) to sell TikTok to a US corporation in order to avoid the app being banned, but this did not materialize.

We believe that if this had gone through, TikTok would have lost a significant number of users. And if they have banned, they would have lost access to the US market. Which the firm claims is one of their largest markets, along with India and Brazil. Other platforms, such as Instagram, have since passed the 1 billion active users threshold. And have developed their own TikTok competitor, Reels, to compete with the popular video-sharing app.

Having said that, TikTok is still a long way from becoming the dominant social media platform. TikTok has around 1 billion monthly active users, according to the most recent data. So it may be a long time until they surpass Facebook in terms of monthly active users.
