It was reported that the world famous furniture company IKEA will enter the Pakistani market in the next few months. IKEA is a multinational conglomerate known for its unique designs and ready-to-assemble furniture. This is likely to bring a wide range of low-cost products to the commercially isolated Pakistani market.
News of the IKEA launch in Pakistan hit the local media after Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany, Dr. Mohammad Faisal who had announced the news. Several well-known Twitter managers also presented the news:
In a statement, Dr. Faisal, recently he met with Dieter Metke, an IKEA employee who is expected to lead the operations of a multinational conglomerate in Pakistan. In what has now been tweeted, Dr. Faisal:
“Met Dieter Mettke IKEA Deutschland. He is going to Pakistan to be in charge of Ikea operations. We look forward to Ikea opening up stores in major cities of Pakistan”

IKEA has been the largest furniture retailer in the world since 2008. In 2018, the international retailer opened its shop in India. To date, IKEA has more than 271 stores in the EU, 65 in North America, 14 in the United Arab Emirates, 11 in Oceania, 82 in Asia and 2 in Africa. The first IKEA store opened in Amhult, Sweden, in 1958.
