General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), stated on Tuesday that Pakistan places a high priority on its relations with South Africa.
According to an Inter Services Public Relations news release, he conveyed his views during a meeting with Chief of the South African National Defence Forces General RudzaniMaphwanya , who called on him here at the General Headquarters.
According to the COAS, Pakistan regards South Africa as a major country on the African continent, adding, “We value South Africa’s contribution to regional peace, security, and development of the African area.”
During the meeting, both countries’ common interests, regional security situation and defence, training, and security cooperation were discussed.
Meanwhile, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak stated on Tuesday that Pakistan believes in peaceful resolution of all disputes and appreciates Tajikistan’s efforts to promote regional peace and stability.
