Members as well as journalists waited until evening for the liquidation speech scheduled by Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin, but later learned that the minister would do so on Friday morning (today), at which point the debate about the opposition would start to move. .
As usual, the members on both sides of the hall continued to make political speeches and continued to attack their respective leaders, causing a commotion in the house several times. In their speeches, Treasury officials blamed the previous government for the current situation in the country, and opposition leaders continued to refer to those in power as “inefficient, inexperienced and incompetent”.
Members of the Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Pakistan and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) addressed the PPP government in Sindh in their speeches, accusing it of doing nothing for the people and neglecting Karachi and Hyderabad.
The house noticed the noise when PTI MNA from Karachi Fahim Khan mentioned the dog bite incident in Sind and said that “there is a dog rule in the province which will be abolished in two years”.
Several PPP MPs stood up and protested the statement and forced the chairman to remove them from the trial. However, PTI MNA repeated his statement, insisting that he did not say anything bad.
PPP’s Aga Rafiula responded to Khan’s remarks, saying the MP had actually “offended” the people of Sind.
“We have enough dog bite vaccines now, give us the names of the dogs and we’ll give them to them,” said Rafiula, provoking strong protests from members of the Treasury who wanted to respond to PPP’s MNA, but the shrewd chairman, refusing to speak to any of the members. them and keep the situation from getting worse.
Both Faheem Khan and Agha Rafiullah were among seven lawmakers barred from entry by the speaker last week because of noise in the house at the start of the budget debate.
Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination, Dr. Fehmida Mirza, took part in the debate and turned seriously to the Sindh government, which, despite the funds raised, did not complete a number of development projects.
Dr. Mirza, a PPP dissident, said the Sindh government accused the federal government of “just hiding its incompetence” in the matter of the National Finance Commission (NFC).
