Highway Karakoram was reopened for all traffic types, stated the Media arm of the Pakistan Army on Sunday.
According to the ISPR troops from FWO, despite terrible weather, tough terrain, worked 24 hours to clear the road.
The 1300-km-long route on Friday was blocked owing to high monsoon rainfall floods and landslides. The road from Tata Pani to Upper Kohistan was obstructed at 26 places. For hours, people have been on the road.
The National Disaster Management Authority President General Akhter Nawaz Satti told SAMAATV earlier this day that Gilgit-Baltistan has received 70% more rain this year.
Gen Satti said NDMA has so far saved more than 25 families. The rains in some sections of the region have wiped away buildings and bridges.
