The junta of Myanmar slammed for the death of children

Myanmar again criticized internationally for the deaths of more than 45 children and the “enforced disappearance” of hundreds of people fighting democratic protests, on Friday.

The brutal repression of a military demonstration against a seizure of power on February 1 killed 540 civilians, including 42 children, according to the Association in Support of Political Prisoners (AAPP), a local surveillance organization.

Apart from crushing the protests with tear gas, rubber bullets, and life circles, security forces arrested around 2,600 people. Violence has increased in recent weeks.

According to Save the Children, the number of deaths has more than doubled in the past 11 days.”We are surprised that, despite repeated calls to protect children from harm, children continue to be subjected to these deadly attacks,” the charity said in a statement.
