For the first time in the country’s history, Mohammad Sarwar, the governor of Punjab instructed all public and private universities to share their complete documents with students after all exams.
The governor, who is also the chancellor of all universities, issued this instruction to the vice-chancellor and chancellor of the university in connection with the decision of the Chief Commissioner for Information at Nauman-ul-Haq against the Punjab Public Service Committee).
The Punjab Information Commission issued an order on 1 February 2021 that the PPSC must share acceptable documents with applicants.

PPSC has conveyed to the Information Committee that the documents decided by the applicant are confidential documents in accordance with PPSC rules 16.35 (iii) (B).
However, the Information Commission rejected the PPSC objection and ordered copies of the approved documents to be made available to the complainants within seven days.
On March 19, on the orders of the Information Commission, the governor of Punjab issued a circular to all public and private universities in Punjab to carry out a written order from Chief Commissioner Mahbub Qadir Shah.
