Transgender people in Punjab now receive government grants. The initiative is part of the Punjab provincial government social protection program.
Deputy Minister of Information of Punjab, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan shared details of the transgender program at a press conference in Lahore, Thursday.
He was accompanied by Punjab Social Security Agency Representative Jamal Nasir Cheema. The government is currently prioritizing disadvantaged sections of society in all of its projects, said Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan.

Transgender people are part of society and receive a monthly stipend, She said.
Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said the Ehsaas Punjab Masawaat program is a unique program that supports transgender people.
SACM said that under this program, transgender persons with disabilities between the ages of 18 and 40 would receive Rs 2,000 per month, while transgenders over 40 would receive Rs 3,000 per month.
