The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government has banned transportation between districts due to the increasing number of COVID cases. According to local authorities, only the inner-city terminal will remain open. Goods and food vehicles are exempt from this prohibition.
Provincial Health Minister Taimur Saleem and Deputy Information Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Kamran Bangash told the media that coronavirus cases had increased in 16 CP regions.

Pandemics can be brought under control by taking the necessary precautions, they added.
The decision came after Pakistan reported 84 deaths from the new coronavirus in the past 24 hours as the number of positive cases rose to 678,170. The total number of deaths in the country rose to 14,611 today (Friday).
The national total of Covid-19 cases registered at 53,132 in addition to 4,978 people tested positive for the deadly virus on Thursday, the highest number of new infections in a single day since June last year.
