The Federal State contested the High Court judgement of Lahore (LHC), published by the 24NewsHD TV station, to provide temporary relieve to sugar mill owners’ rates before the Supreme Court (SC).
The government requested the Court in its application that the LHC judgement of 3 August be declared null and invalid and argued that the decision of a single court bench could not be upheld.
It further contended that under the Price and Control Act the High Court of Lahore decided the sugar price that it was not permitted to do.
In the case, the government appointed proprietors of several sugar factories.
