Tuesday, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry announced that the Federal Cabinet agreed to retain the ban on the prohibited organization Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) still intact.
In April, Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Federal Cabinet authorized a summary for a ban on the TLP pursuant to the Antiterrorism Law from the Interior Minister.
After days of violence around the nation, three individuals, including two policemen, lost their lives, the federal authorities decided to outlaw TLP.
At a news conference following the Cabinet, Fawad stated that a report was submitted by a committee responsible for reviewing the decision to the Cabinet.
In the report, the committee reported that the TLP decision was merit-based since this banned organization has been responsible for the martyrdom of police staff, torture, and burning locations, he added.
