Although during Cannes Film Festival earlier this month it was revealed that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith’s Westbrook Studios had teamed up with Netter Films to create ‘The Alchemist.’
A spokesman said to the Hollywood reporter: “This is not a question of funding, but just of a transfer of rights. A gap occurred in the normal-course implementation of the transfer of production rights, resulting in a temporary stoppage of the production. As soon as the rights transfer comes to an end, we look forward to being backed-up and running with our great cast and crew.”
Speaking of the movie earlier this month, Netter Films said: “There has been inspiration from ‘The Alchemist’ for hundreds of millions in the last three decades to follow their goals, listen to their emotions and never lose hope in hardship.”
