Taliban’s FM Muttaqi arrives in Pakistan tomorrow

Taliban’s acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi will arrive in Pakistan on November 10 (tomorrow), the Afghan Foreign Ministry stated Tuesday.

Amir Khan Muttaqi will meet with Pakistan’s top authorities and may attend the Troika Plus conference.

According to a ministry official, the visit will focus on the Afghan economic crisis and visa reform.

Earlier, Pakistan invited Amir Khan Muttaqi to the Troika Plus conference on November 11 in Islamabad.

“The Special Representatives for Afghanistan from the United States, China, Russia, and Pakistan will meet on Thursday,” an official told The News.

The Troika Plus on Afghanistan will include Ambassador Mohammad Sadiq, Thomas West, Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, Russia’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan, and Yue Xiaoyong, China’s Special Envoy for Afghanistan.

Pakistan has yet to recognise the Afghan caretaker system. After his visit to Kabul, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi told the media that he had invited Mutaqqi, who had accepted.
