Sultans’ Captain Mohammad Rizwan reacts to the victory of PSL 6

Captain Mohammad Rizwan opened his excitement after leading Sultans into the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) maiden’s title in the sixth season versus Peshawar Zalmi.

Rizwan spoke after Abu Dhabi’s 47 runs victory that the game won after the players and management’s joint effort.

Credit from God, who has taken us from the earth to the pinnacle tonight. Loan also to our managers, who made it for us on this second leg so comfortable. The finals are games of pressure – that cannot be avoided in the final,” Captain Mohammad Rizwan added. So the strain of playing the new ball started like that and then we took it from there. You have to disregard the noise when you go for the win. We didn’t feel Maqsood got enough hit and then chose to get him up and it paid off. With Maqsood, I thought. And all over our bowlers were amazing,” he said.

While Wahab Riaz, the losing captain, was happy of his team’s achievements during the event.

It’s a great deal to play a final. My squad must credited with how we played during this competition. But today, we have not been playing well, they have played a lot better than us. I think the first bowl decision was ok — we claimed we leaked at the back of it from the beginning and this is why we bowled,” Riaz added.

“But the efforts of our squad, particularly in the second round, were incredible. We did it as a team, whether we’ve won or lost. Not guilty of games. In this tournament we saw some good young bowling — people like Dahani, Imran — they should have a lot of experience at home, so in the next few years they are under much better pressure,” he said.
