Students under 18 with study visa may get covid vaccine

Students under the age of 18 who wish to travel abroad on a valid study visa are being allowed to get Covid vaccine.

Students who have not yet reached the sanctioned 18-year-old minimum age limit to receive Covid shots will now be reminded to comply with their international flight boarding requirements.

Those who have a valid study visa and wish to travel abroad to study can get vaccinated now.

They will receive the vaccines of the Moderna vaccine, whose stock was recently made available by Pakistan and which has been dedicated only to people over 18 who have suffered from a terminal illness.

Starting tomorrow, all citizens over the age of 18 will receive the modern vaccine, as well as those who wish to study abroad but are still under the age limit for vaccination.

Separately today, given Covid’s possible restrictions across the country amid rising infections, federal planning minister Asad Umar and special health adviser Faisal Sultan held a press on Sunday to present statistics and possible card restrictions.

We are planning targeted restrictions with coordinated plans to make people less disturbed, Asad Umar said, noting that Pakistan has repelled the Covid carnage, which has wreaked havoc in other countries in the region.

He said they all witnessed the devastation of India and Iran, the planning chief said, adding that Pakistan was safely out of the way in all previous waves of the pandemic.
