Squid Game became the first Korean series to get PGA Awards nomination

The South Korean series ‘Squid Game’ is the first non-English programme to receive a nomination in PGA Awards history. The Producers Guild of America Awards released the nominations for its 33rd edition on thursaday.

The smash-hit South Korean survival drama developed by streaming giant Netflix. It is the first-ever show in a language other than English to be in with a chance of winning the prestigious award in the ‘Best Episodic Drama’ category.

‘The Handmaid’s Tale’, ‘The Morning Show’, ‘Succession’, and ‘Yellowstone’ are among the contenders with Squid Game for PGA Awards. Everyone will race to get the top spot in specific category.

Furthermore, there is also the nominations for the outstanding producer of theatrical motion pictures. It includes Todd Black (Being the Ricardos), Laura Berwick (King Richard) and Kenneth Branagh, Becca Kovacik, Tamar Thomas (Belfast). Moreover, Cale Boyter (West Side Story), Philippe Rousselet, Fabrice Gianfermi, Patrick Wachsberger (CODA) and Adam McKay will try their luck.

However, the Producer Guild Awards event has scheduled for March 19, 2022 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, California. Covid regulations and SOP’s should be follow by everyone in attendance.
