Sindh Notifies New SOP’s To Suppress Covid-19 Omicron Variant

Several new limitations were announced by the Sindh government on Saturday in an effort to halt the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19.

A statement issued by the Sindh Home Department advised people to keep doors and windows open in their homes and offices during gatherings in order to prevent the transmission of the Omicron strain of the coronavirus.

Those suffering from coughing, runny or stuffy noses, or other respiratory ailments should avoid the gatherings, according to the home department.

Only fully vaccinated individuals were permitted to attend the gathering, and the corona  (SOPs) should be posted on the premises, according to the home department.

On Thursday, six more suspected instances of Omicron were discovered in Karachi, according to the local media.

The people who are suspected of possessing the Omicron strain, according to authorities in the provincial health department, have a history of travel. Two of them traveled to Karachi from the United Kingdom, while the others came from South Africa, where this strain of the virus was found for the first time.

According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), on December 13, a woman patient from the port city was diagnosed with the Covid-19 Omicron variant, which was the first confirmed instance in Pakistan.
