Former bowling player Shoaib Akthar is unhappy with the way PCB and the cricket team handled the Mohammad Amir situation and believes they are squandering his talent.
Shoaib’s comments came after Mohammad Amir decided to quit international cricket due to psychological abuse by the current leadership. Amir said even though he wanted to represent his nation, he was treated unfairly by head coach Misbach-ul-Haq and bowling coach Wakar Eunice.
Amir said management had made it clear that he was no longer in their plans and had therefore decided to withdraw from all forms of international cricket.
However, Rawalpindi Express was disappointed in the way PCB handled the situation. Schaebe believes Amir still has a lot to offer Pakistani cricket and that his bowling talent should not be lost.
Shoaib insists that he will help the 28-year-old return to his best and reintroduce himself to the national team.
Amir was not seen as a 35-man team for the New Zealand tour, and he said this was when he realized he was no longer in the plans. Recently, Amir waged a verbal war with the leadership and carried out discreet excavations of the trainers on social media.
Relations between the two countries have deteriorated since Amir announced his retirement from Test Cricket in July 2019.
