The Sindh Supreme Court (SHC) has allowed a private company that imports Russia’s Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine to sell – as the country grapples with a third wave of the coronavirus.
The decision was made during an audience by the Drug and Drug Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) against the release of the Sputnik V vaccine. It, therefore, does not apply to vaccines imported by the company.
The private company lawyer assured the court he would voluntarily provide details on the market price of the vaccine.
The court ruled that everyone must participate in fighting the pandemic.
“At present, it is against the public interest to stop the sale of the coronavirus vaccine … to stop the availability of the vaccine is inappropriate.” The court which approved the sale of the vaccine said.
It should be noted here that according to the company’s formula, the rate for two doses of Sputnik V vaccine should be set at 12,268 rupees.
The day before, the Pakistani government received an order from the SHC to fix the price for Sputnik V for the next seven days. SHC Judge Amjad Ali Sahito recorded every one.
