According to sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan may appoint Shaukat Tareen, a former federal minister and renowned banker in Pakistan, as his aide on finance and revenue.
Tareen, who has attended key meetings of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s finance and economic team, has agreed to take up the position but has requested “15-20 days'” notice.
While the situation is still being worked out, the premier would be the one to decide whether the former finance minister would be appointed as a special assistant or adviser.
