Family members have confirmed that the famous folk singer Shaukat Ali has died. According to his son Ameer Shaukat Ali, he is being treated at the Joint Military Hospital (CMH) in Lahore.
Previously, Ameer had asked fans of singing prayers about his worsening condition. He has a number of medical problems to overcome, including diabetes and a liver transplant.
He also had a heart bypass several years ago. Known for his patriotic war songs such as Station Mujahidon Jaag Uta Hai Sara Vatan and Apna Quaid Ike Hai, Shaukat has been bad in recent years, among others.
