Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shahid Afridi praised Javelin athlete Arshad Nadeem for his spectacular performance at the Tokyo Olympics. Shahid also praised athletic skills of Arshad.
The whole nation praised Nadeem. He gave the masses hope to end the medal ground in Pakistan at the Olympics. Participants will compete in the final round of the men’s javelin throwing on Saturday.
“Great athlete! He has a wonderful story for Olympics. Congratulations on qualifying for the final and all the best,” the former captain.
Arshad Nadeem is the first Pakistani athlete in history to qualify for the final of an Olympic athletic competition.
In the first attempt, the 24 years old Pakistani athlete could have reached 78.5 meters. On the second attempt Arshad managed to make a story with a throw of 85.16 meters which also took him to the top of Group B.
Overall, this is the third best meter in the race after India’s Neeraj Chopra (86.65 m) and Germany’s Johannes Wetter (85.64 m).
