Seven more areas of Lahore sealed after increase in Covid-19 cases

According to the statement released on Saturday, Punjab’s Ministry of Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department has decided to sealed seven more areas of Lahore. The closed areas are Block F Kota Johar, Block Asif Kota Allama Iqbal, Block A Gulshan-i-Ravi, Block C near UET Lahore, and several roads from Gol Bagh, Shadbagh and Jalan Sultan Mahmood.

In the past days, Healthcare Department had made a smart lockdown in some areas

On February 16, Punjab’s Ministry of Primary and Secondary Health has decided to make a smart lockdown in seven neighborhood areas of Lahore. Those are following the high number of coronavirus cases in the area.

The areas to be sealed include Askari X, Defense Phase II and III, Sarwar Colony, and Shad Bagh, according to the announcement. The order takes two weeks.

The entrances and exits to the neighborhood are closed and people are advised not to leave their homes without masks.

Shopping centers, schools, restaurants, and offices of these areas also close. The hold will remain in effect for two weeks. After that, health authorities will review the situation related to the coronavirus.
