SCO Organizes GB’s First Tech Hackathon

Today is the first time that Gilgit-Baltistan is hosting a Tech Hackathon. It started with a big ceremony at the Special Communications Organization- Karakoram International University (SCO-KIU) Incubation Centre.

With the help of Accelerate Prosperity Pakistan, SCO is also placing on this event. The Asia Pacific Telecommunity is the way of referring to this network. In addition to Serena Hotels and the World Wildlife Fund Pakistan, also known as WWF-P, there is also the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, also known as MoITT.

The main goal of this hackathon is to get people to think of new ways to solve problems and use cutting-edge technology to help solve some of the most important problems facing the Gilgit-Baltistan region right now. On March 23 and 24, 2018, the hackathon will take place.
The goal of the program is to get people in Gilgit Baltistan who know a lot about technology to work together for the benefit of a good cause and also to help the tech-based business sector in the area grow.

Researchers will conduct research on the following six topics during the GB Tech Hackathon 2022:

  • E-Commerce
  • Sustainable Tourism
  • As soon as COVID is back up and running,
  • The farming industry will become digital (e-Agriculture)
  • E-Health
  • E-Governance

The winners of the competition will get money and the chance to work together in shared spaces at the National Incubation Centres and Accelerate Pro’s Incubation Program. If they win, they are always able to do these things.
