Samsung will be the first manufacturer to use Cornings new Gorilla Glass DX for cameras

Samsung will be the first in the world to introduce a new scratch-resistant gorilla glass in its camera phones. Corning, the company that makes Gorilla Glass, announced a cornings new Gorilla Glass product in a press release.
Corning Gorilla Glass Vice President and CEO Jamine Amin said in a press release that the company “has developed the perfect solution for camera lens caps”.
“For the end user experience, our Gorilla Glass DX products offer the industry’s greatest mix of optical performance and protection,” Admin added.

New cornings on Samsung phones. Gorilla Glass, Corning’s thin, long lasting and scratch resistant glass. This is a very common technology for cellphones.

In a press release, Corning announced two new types of Gorilla Glass products. The products that combine what the company calls DX and DX+ technologies. And it introduces a new class of focus on smartphone camera lenses.

Gorilla Glass with DX is “not just glass and nothing new”. But this will be the first time the technology has been applied to a smartphone camera. According to the report, the technology was first used on the Samsung Galaxy Watch in 2018.

It has previously reported that Apple has invested $45 million in Corning, which also supplies ceramic screens for the iPhone 12.
Which Samsung Phones Will Have the New Gorilla Glass?
It was only at the end of the press release that Corning revealed that Samsung was the first to test a new class of Gorilla Glass on its smartphones.

“Samsung will be the first customer to use Gorilla Glass DX products for camera lens covers,” the press release said.

The press release doesn’t provide any further details. So it’s still unclear which specific device will contain the Gorilla Glass DX camera lens. In addition, there is no information in the press regarding when the Gorilla Glass DX product will release.
