A Russian group agreed to provide suggestions for a modernization of Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM). A variety of projects in Karachi, led by Andrey Zubal, were discussed by the Russian team and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
PSM requires upgrading, but also upgrading to satisfy present steel production requirements, according to Sindh’s Chief Minister. The visiting delegation decided thus to send a team to the factory to identify upgrading requirements for the factory.
The group resolved to prioritize the modernization of the steel project by studying the feasibility and method of operation with the provincial administration and discussing them. The conference also resolved to explore how a 50-MW waste-to-energy factory in Dhabeji may be constructed.
