Rehman Malik transferred to ICU after testing positive for Covid-19

Rehman Malik, a leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and a former interior minister, has been transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a private hospital for treatment of difficulties following his Covid procedure.

When the former interior minister tested positive for coronavirus, he was taken to the hospital and later suffered lung complications involving the respiratory system.

Asif Ali Zardari, the former president of Pakistan, brought a bouquet to Rehman Malik, a senior member of the Pakistan People’s Party who is undergoing treatment for post-Covid problems.

Zardari expressed his best wishes for the former interior minister’s speedy recovery.

It is important to note that Pakistan has seen a decrease in the number of daily COVID-19 cases, with the country recording 5,327 new cases of the pandemic in the last 24 hours.

As reported by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), a total of 55,202 samples were tested, with 5,327 of them proving to be positive, representing a 9.65 percent infection rate as compared to the previous day’s rate of 11.53 percent.

The total number of confirmed infections in the country increased to 1,430,366 with the inclusion of 5,327 new cases.
