Reese Witherspoon’s daughter, Ava Phillippe, shared a touching tribute to her mother on Instagram in honor of the Oscar winner’s 47th birthday.
Just two days before Reese Witherspoon announced her separation from husband Jim Toth, Ava posted a sweet message expressing her admiration for her mother.
“HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to this legendary lady I’m lucky enough to call my mama!” Ava wrote in her post. “She is truly a force of nature. While I am endlessly inspired by her and so proud of all she’s accomplished, what I admire most is the way she moves through the world as a curious, considerate, gracious, and loving person.”
Ava, who is Witherspoon’s daughter with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, also shared that she finds “even more reasons” to love her mom each year. “I am thrilled to celebrate another year of her bright light in my life!” she added. “Love you always @reesewitherspoon.”
Witherspoon was clearly touched by her daughter’s words, commenting on the post, “How did I get so lucky to have a daughter like you??” The birthday tribute brought some happy endorphins amid a period of personal changes in Witherspoon’s life.
On March 24, the actress and producer confirmed on Instagram that she and Toth were separating just two days before their 12th wedding anniversary. “We have some personal news to share… It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” the former couple wrote in a joint statement. “We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”
Despite the recent news, it’s clear that Witherspoon’s family is still full of love and support for one another. And as Ava’s birthday tribute shows, there’s plenty of happiness and gratitude to go around.
