Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth, who were married for 12 years, had been living separately before announcing their divorce.
According to an exclusive report by Us Weekly, the couple lived “very separate lives” and even slept in separate rooms. However, sources claimed that their partnership was still “very strong” but the romance was gone, and they were more focused on their careers than each other.
Jim Toth, who co-owned Witherspoon’s media company, Hello Sunshine, was seriously invested in it, and it had been a bonding factor for the couple. However, after selling the company and Witherspoon taking on more acting roles, they spent more time apart.
The couple announced their decision to divorce in a joint statement posted on Witherspoon’s Instagram account on March 24th, 2023.
They stated that they have enjoyed many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness, and mutual respect for everything they have created together. Their biggest priority is their son, Tennessee James, 10.
The news of their split comes just two days before their 12th wedding anniversary and two days after Witherspoon’s 47th birthday.
