Rawalpindi’s CCPO apologised to the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday after it objected to a medical report he presented at the previous hearing in the PTI sit-in case.
Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf heard a plea to stop PTI’s march. Captain Shoaib, Shehzad Bukhari, and others appeared in court on Wednesday.
During the hearing, the court objected to the Rawalpindi CCPO’s medical report for missing the last hearing.
“The medical report does not give any justification for his absence,” the court said, adding that the official will be punished if he sticks to the report.
The Rawalpindi CCPO apologised twice when court resumed following a short break.
Justice Mirza called the Rawalpindi commissioner and asked the IB DG, Motorway IG, and extra home secretary to report on PTI protests and sit-ins.
The court also asked the IB DG to report on the situation after the protests and the Rawalpindi CPO and deputy commissioner to ensure citizens’ safety.
The court delayed until November 23.
