Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar of the Punjab province announced the launch of an air ambulance service, claiming that his province will be the first to establish such a service.
In the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, the passing out ceremony for 393 rescuers from the KPK province and 73 rescue workers from the Koh-e-Suleman district of DG Khan was held on Saturday at the emergency services academy Thokhar Niaz Beg.
A rescue air ambulance service was announced by Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh in his presentation to the audience, stressing that the province will be among the first in the country to provide this service. He went on to clarify that the budget for the current fiscal year had already been allocated to him. Following the pattern of the Punjab police, Mr. Singh vowed to sympathetically assess the permission of risk allowance for rescuers, and he further announced that work will be undertaken to reinstate the allowance, which has been frozen since 2017.
As a result of these efforts, he claims, the government has expanded the scope of rescue services to include 86 tehsils, as well as the use of motorbike ambulances to include 27 districts. His delight with the fact that rescue 1122 has saved a huge number of people in more than 96 lakh emergencies, which he termed as “a special honour for the organisation,” was reflected in part by his praise for the organization’s efforts.
It was with great pleasure that the Chief Minister announced that more than 20,000 rescuers from Punjab and other federating units had completed their training at the academy, which boasts the distinction of being the world’s first United Nations-accredited search and rescue squad.
